The PNG LNG Kumuls team to face Fiji Batis in next weekend’s Pacific test clash has been named. The team includes 10 players from the SP PNG Hunters, with five players to make their debut in the Kumuls Jersey.
Justin Olam, Stargroth Amean, Henry Noki, Watson Boas and Kurt Baptist are the five players who will be making their debut.
David Mead from the Gold Coast Titans has been selected at fullback, while Justin Olam and Stargroth Amean play on the wings.
Kato Ottio and Nene McDonald will play in the centres, while brothers Ase and Watson Boas look after the halves.
Wartovo Puara comes in at hooker while Luke Page, Henry Noki, Rhyse Martin, Rod Griffin and Adam Korave play up front. Adex Wera, Brandy Peter, Willie Minoga, Kurt Baptist and Timothy Lomai will come off the bench.
Coach Michael Marum says four shadow players have been named and depending on this weekend’s matches, if there are any injuries they will be dropped from the team. Ex-Kumuls have come back to support the team and be part of the coaching staff. Marcus Bai and Arnold Krewanty have been appointed as team managers while John Wilshire and David Westley as trainers.

The team will gather in Penrith on Monday, May 2 where they will undergo medical tests. They will have five days to prepare before the match on May 7 at the Parramatta Stadium.
