Pilikambi Local Level Government in the Lagaip Porgera District in Enga held its eighth Council Meeting recently.
During the meeting, Pilikambi President, Otto Titikai, presented a list of concerns by ward councilors to Enga Governor, Peter Ipatas.
The council meeting was held at the Pilikambi High School, one of the education institutions in the Lagaip Porgera electorate.
Arriving there on schedule, Governor Peter Ipatas was warmly welcomed by the locals as he headed straight for the meeting.
The 8th Council Meeting was attended by 18 councilors out of a total of 20, including Laiagam District Administrator, George Poio. Also present were local women leaders.
Five issues raised by Pilikambi LLG President, Otto Titikai was the need of feeder road maintenance, proper council chamber, rural electrification and upgrading of Pilikambi High to Secondary status.
In his response, Governor Ipatas said not all issues will be addressed soon, but will be taken care of like the road works and rural electrification.
Governor Ipatas then challenged the ward councilors to perform their duty at the village level as the government has budgeted for funding to districts.
