Mosquitoes In Pool B For International Cup

Since its inception in 2002, the AFL International Cup has attracted teams from all around the world. 

A total of 7 Women’s and 18 Men’s teams will be taking part in this year’s tournament, which is scheduled to run from the 9th to the 26th of August.

 

Our PNG Mosquitos have made every finals appearance since their participation in 2004, and are placed in Pool B against South Africa, Tonga, Japan, India and Pakistan.

 

Pool A, sees reigning champ, Ireland, Nauru, Great Britain, Fiji, France and Indonesia, while in Pool C, New Zealand will face USA, Canada, Sweden, China and Finland.

 

Currently ranked number two, our PNG Mosquitos are hoping to relive their success in 2008 and take out the bragging rights this year.

 

AFL PNG will be announcing the Mosquito’s travelling squad for the International Cup, to be staged in Melbourne, Australia from the 9th to 26th of August.
