NCD Governor, Powes Parkop is confident that his administration has achieved results in his two terms in office.
From cleaning up the city, and making it suitable for children to grow up in his first term; to establishing world class facilities to host regional and global events in his second term.
Parkop believes he has accomplished more than he had hoped to.
Two main challenges he hopes to address in future, was to eliminate every form of violence in the capital city, and to upgrade settlement areas, and empower the indigenous Motu Koitabuans.
“Without the highest level of safety and peace, there cannot be prosperity. We cannot compromise that, businesses will grow if our city, and nation is safe and more tourists will visit us,
After 41 years we cannot let our people languish in substandard living conditions. Motuan villages must be upgraded to modern villages.”
Parkop reiterated if given another term in office, he will continue to deliver.
Meanwhile, Mr Parkop also acknowledged the work of the media in disseminating public information and pushing development agenda.
