Parents Commended for their Support in Funding a Double Classroom

Tanam Adventist Primary School is a level four school located in the Huon Gulf District of Morobe Province. Established in 2010 with over a hundred students, the level four primary school has grown and seen the number of student increase from a hundred to 700.

Yesterday, the school officially opened a 4 in 1 double classroom funded through the fees paid by parents. The new building will cater for Grades 7 and 8 students.

Since its establishment, school infrastructure has always been a challenge for the school.

The building funded by parents, at a cost of nearly K180,000 included desks, chairs and labour costs.

School Head Teacher, Mr Rickson Kamban thanked the parents for their support.

Huon Gulf District Primary School Inspector, Sam Geseng, said the school’s learning improvement plan has helped develop the school.

Like many other schools around the country, Tanam Adventist Primary is one of the schools in Morobe that is also awaiting its outstanding tuition fee free payments of more than K50,000 from the government. The school received only a small amount of their TFF funds in 2015 and is awaiting the outstanding payments.
