An angry Member for Menyamya Benjamin Philip has called for balance and fair reporting fromthe media.
He was responding to a news story in one ofthe dailies onthe state of roads in his district.
The photograph used inthe story is out-dated and does not depictthe current situation onthe ground.
The front page photograph ofthe state of road in Menyamya hadthe local MP Benjamin Philip up in arms.
Mr. Philip says roads in his district are not in such a state. The report portrays a negative impression.
He wants this retracted and called for fairness and balanced reporting fromthe media.
He has allocated funding of K2.6m underthe Joint district budget planning committee for road rehabilitation. The money is yet to be released bythe provincial administration for work to begin.
The Prime Minister Peter O’Neill also committed K20m for the upgrade of Belolo, Aseki and Menyamya road.
Meanwhile, attempts to get comments from ‘The National’ (daily) were unsuccessful, but one ofthe reporters admittedthe photograph was taken years ago.
