In this episode:
Papua New Guinea has a population of over 7 million people. Around 80% of its population live in rural areas….
The country’s geographical landscape consists of tropical islands, valleys and rough terrains in the highlands which make it a lot more difficult and challenging for the National Government to reach out to its people in terms of delivering basic services such as health and education and other developments.
For much development is seen as personal benefit and welfare, which includes quality and accessibility of health education, better roads, expanded markets and higher commodities.
In this episode we feature provincial government concerns on the 2013 and 2014 national budget that were raised in the 2014 Leaders’ Summit.
The 2014 Leaders summit that was held here in Port Moresby gave provincial governments the opportunity to air their concerns in terms of basic service delivery and other infrastructural developments. We take a look at concerns raised by the governor for Manus, Enga and New Ireland.
