Acting Assistant Director of the Office of Higher Education (OHE), Student Support and Scholarship Branch, Thimon Bune says OHE Tickets will be ready by the schedule time of February 8th.
Mr. Bune said there had been delays in receiving confirmed listings from schools, but OHE staff had worked hard to sort out ticketing issues.
“Students travelling to respective tertiary institutions are advised to check Air Niugini offices around the country to get their tickets”, he said.
The OHE Department has already prepared lists for both first year and continuing students attending tertiary institutions around the country.
Particulars of OHE sponsored students attending UPNG, UNITECH, Divine Word, UOG, Teachers and Nursing Colleges were already submitted to Air Niugini and Global Travel Agency.
Over the years, students have not received tickets on time due to various processing errors.
Many times students’ grades were not collated on time by corresponding institutions.
This directly affects the students’ GPA, and as a result they miss out on government scholarships.
However, this year OHE has informed each tertiary institution to sort out this issue, prior to submitting students GPA scores to OHE.
Meanwhile, students are expected to check with their nearest Air Niugini and Global Agency outlets to get their tickets.
