Shortage of SBC Text books for students lacking in schools

By Sharlyne Eri – EMTV News, Lae
The Provincial Materials and Supply Officer for Morobe, Alabe Saugin, says the Curriculum Department is yet to distribute Standard Based Curriculum textbooks for students.
Students are currently being taught using the teacher’s guide and syllabus. Teachers nationwide have started implementing SBC this year, but with limited resource booklets.
Mr. Saugin added that SBC is only being implemented in lower grades because resource booklets for the upper grades are yet to be designed. Therefore, Grades 6 to 7 have resorted to using the old system – the Outcome Based Education.
