The National Soccer League is played in two components; the first part will see the winner of the domestic league competition and the runner-up gained qualification to compete in the OFC Champions League.
In this case, Toti City Dwellers and Madang FC have qualified to represent PNG in the region’s top Club Football Competition.
The second part will is the finals round where the final four teams in the NSL competes for the first, second and third placing.
The 2016/2017 season finals did not eventuate as planed with a controversy surrounding PNGFA’s financial strain led to an untimely end of the competition.
NSL Chairman Benny Popotai however admitted and apologised in a press conference held last week saying they had completed the first part of the competition but failed to see off the finals end.
Meanwhile, the Dwellers are grouped in pool A which will see them head down to Port Vila, Vanuatu to kick-start their OFC Champions League campaign on the 10th -18th of February.
Pooled in group C Madang will start off their campaign in Auckland New Zealand, commencing on the 24th February to the 4th of March.
Both teams will have wash-out matches played upon returning from the OFC Champions League before the NSL semi-finals top 4 playoffs on March 24th.
