Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru, says projects in districts should not take long to complete when funds are allocated.
After months of being critical of service delivery in Morobe districts, Governor Naru again draws attention to incomplete infrastructure such as roads and Health Centers.
“The contractors must work night and day to finishthese projects,” he said.
He said this while speaking atthe launching of new projects at Wantoat Station, because he wantsthe projects worth over 1.5 million kina to be completed on time.
The projects include fixingthe Wantoat Health center, which treats over 30,000 people aroundthe Station. The Wantoat area is known for its high infant and maternal mortality.
“Our mthers face a lot of difficulty whenthey are trying give birth totheir baby,” says a local mther, Betty Ipi.
A new School is also going to be built. Funds for a double classroom and three teachers houses have been earmarked for the project.
The Projects in Wantoat also include a new Digicel Communications tower that will carrythe EMTV broadcasting signal.
