Telikom NSL Round 3 Updates

By Jeremy Mogi – EM TV, Port Moresby

Oro FC welcomed their first victory in the Telikom National Soccer League after defeating Admiralty FC in a hard and oft times, physical encounter at the CIS Grounds, Bomana.

Coming off the back of a humiliating 4-1 loss to BESTA last week, the Oro side, went into the match knowing, a win was the only option.

Admiralty for their part fought hard to restrict their opponents, pushing forward more and forcing Oro’s centre-back, Cambell Misirait to scramble in defence.

Admiralty did come close, but it was not until the third minute of the second half when the match came to life, after midfielder, Jacob Sabua struck from near halfway to seal the win.

FC Port Moresby and Madang met in the second match of the double header, both sides coming into the round with draws in their previous outings respectively.

The match dominated by FC Port Moresby early after striker, Felix Bondaluk, sent a left footed drive past Madang goal keeper, Leehan Manase, within the first five minutes.

FC Port Moresby player and coach, Reginald Davani, was extremely frustrated throughout the match, raising his hands at times against referee, Salaiau Sosongan, who came into scrutiny throughout the match.

Madang however, were tenacious in attack and continuously threatened, finally rewarded in the dying stages of the match, with a header to Gerrard Lashel to equalize and keep their campaign on track.
