The extent of his popularity was clearly seen at the Jackson Airport, Port Moresby, with public paparazzi rushing to capture memories with the vocalist, as he waited to board his flight home, to Autonomous Region of Bougainville, after having won season two of PNG’s biggest TV talent show, EM TV Vocal Fusion.
Children, men, women and even airline workers took the opportunity to take pictures with Mr Opeti.
Families and EM TV Vocal Fusion fans in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, staged a rousing welcome for Morris Opeti, in numbers, with style and colour.
Banners at the Buka Airport, last Friday, welcoming Morris Opeti back on home soil, were painted with ‘I Love Buka’.
The vocalist was given a protocol welcome in Buka, by Autonomous Bougainville Government officials.
It began with a tour from the airport, to Buka town, the passage, Kokopau and then to Tinputz.
The excitement was seen at Tinputz District Administration, ‘Bougainville’s Own Best Vocalist’.
And ‘I Love Buka’, still remains in the hearts of Bougainvilleans.
