The Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Morobe province last week opened a new church building at Tanam village outside Lae city.
The new Tanam Adventist church is aimed at bringing together the Adventist community and other Christians from nearby villages.
Tanam Advantist church congregation is a small community comprising of people living along the Lae to Nadzab corridor.
Despite being a Lutheran dominated community, local leaders for the Wamapa area agreed for the first SDA church to be built in the early 90’s at Tanam village.
Twenty years after being established a new modernized structure was erected with contributions from the local church goers including members and friends of the SDA church.
Over the last five years the Wampar area has been a fighting zone fuelled by the consumption of alcohol.
The new church building also symbolizes unity among the people of Tanam and Gadsum Tep villages in the Wampar area.
