Mesime village gets Clean Fresh Water

The people of Mesime village outside Port Moresby can now access clean fresh water supply.

 

The project which took six months to complete was launched on Wednesday.

The project costing 160 thousand kina was funded by SP Brewery in partnership with Beroko Rotary Club.

 

The clean drinking water project is an initiative of SP Brewery to contribute positively to communities through sustainable development projects.

 

General Manager for SP Brewery Stan Joyce saidthe project outlines SP Brewery’s commitment in improving lives of people.

 

Minister for Community Development Loujaya Toni toldthe villagers that water is essential for life.

 

The Rotarian Club of Beroko secured two female engineers who designed and supervisedthe project.

 

Project Coordinator and local villager Allan Miria poured is heart out in thankingthe Public Private Partnership in makingthe project a success.

 

The project consists of a 5 kilometer water pipe from two reservoir tanks servicing ten water outlets.

 

The day’s program ended withthe launching ofthe water project and unveiling of a plaque.
