Menyamya MP Thomas Pelika passed away this morning at the Angau General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
According to sources, he was admitted at the hospital last week Tuesday.
Thomas Netato Pelika served as a police officer and climbed the ranks to be Chief Superintendent and Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of North Fly Command, Western Province.
He became a Member of Parliament in 1992 and was given ministerial roles in his first two terms of Parliament from 1992- 2002, that included being the Minister of Police and Correctional Institution Service from 1998 to 1999.
He was serving his third term in parliament after being re-elected in 2017, at the time of his passing.
