The last round ofthe 2013 Media Pool Competition is set for this Saturday.
It will seethe top 12 teams go head to head in search ofthe best team ofthe season.
Chairman ofthe Media Pool Competition Collin Taimbari saidthe competition has been excellent this year.
A total of 24 teams competed in this year’s Competition, compared to 22 teams last year.
Taimbari saidthe standard ofthe competition has been high in terms of skills level and professionalism by players and teams.
The competition has also seenthe highest number of female participation this year, and Taimbari said this was good for the competition and it reflectsthe growth in popularity for the sport.
The top 12 teams after this weekend will proceed tothe elimination and quarter finals next weekend. All spots have basically been secured except for the 12th spot which will be fought out between Pacific MMI and FM Central.
Pacific MMI have an easier draw on Saturday asthey take on Poi Nangu, while FM Central have a battle ontheir hands againstthe competition’s most consistent team Digicel Niusmakers.
Heli Solutions Spin Doctors have taken outthe minor premiership. The Spinners have won alltheir matches so far except for a loss tothe Niusmakers. Spinners should easily account for Nictosh on Saturday.
