Mapai Transport Limited Gives to 2016 Enga Cultural Show

Mapai Transport Limited (MTL) which has been dedicated to providing freight services to all highlands provinces as well as coastal provinces in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since 1990 is one of the sponsors of this year’s Enga Cultural Show.

Following a cheque presentation of K20, 000.00 to the Enga Show Committee (ESC) in Lae this week on Wednesday, MTL’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kevin Bruce Christie, said that Mapai never forgets its roots in Enga as it goes international.

Christie said that they are always reminded by Mapai’s Managing Director, Jacob Luke, of the company’s priority in supporting and giving back to the people.

“It is the people that matter to me more than what I have… It is important that I see them enjoy my hard work”. Luke said

The Managing Director also emphasised that they decided to assist with the event because the show is for the children and it will teach them about their culture and tradition.

Global Media and Event Company (GMEC) who will be in charge of the show’s amphitheatre are planning, for the first time ever to bring to Enga one of Solomon Islands’ “living national icons”, the big name Sammy Saeni, a.k.a Sharzy and many big names and upcoming stars of the PNG Music Industry.

The Enga Cultural show is a significant event in the province whereby all Engans unite to celebrate and embrace their unique culture as well as showcasing it to PNG and the World.

Mr Timothy Lepa, on behalf of the ESC and GMEC acknowledged and reaffirmed that the donation from Mapai is a lot and would help in staging the show.
