Manus MP, Ronny Knightosays thatthe district will pay for student school fees in higher tertiary institutions aroundthe country.
He said this while speaking at a Primary School Graduation on Lou Island. Knight told parents and students’that district funds will be used to pay University tuitions.
“Parents have come tothe district office asking for assistance inthe past becausethey couldn’t afford school fees,” he said.
Betowhenthe district gives scholarships to students’Knight urgedthem to focus on education, become professionals and come back tothe Province to help develop it.
“The chance will be given once, if you flunk don’t come back asking. Become an Engineer or Doctor and come help your Province,” he said.
BetoKnight is also concerned that Manus isn’t getting enough spaces in higher tertiary institutions.

Ronny Knight says this because trends in Manus see drop outs resettling back at home to a small Island province with few resources.
The Province now plans to provide quality human resource tothe country through education.
It’s an Island known to have produced top bureaucrats’, businessman and professionals inthe past.
