A man has died instantly in Madang after being shot in the head by assailants in an attempted robbery yesterday.
Senior Inspector Steven Yalamu confirmed a man of Asian (sic) origin was killed after a group of men armed with bush knives and guns attacked his vehicle carrying multiple passengers.
The deceased was the owner of the Furent Supermarket and was carrying a total of K100,000 in his vehicle at the time of the assault.
The money and the car were taken during the robbery, however the vehicle has since been recovered by Police Investigators.
According to Police, there are limited leads to the suspects.
