The Legal Training Institute today started the third annual Queensland Bar Workshop.
Up to 95 postgraduate law students are currently undergoing the workshop, where 15 barristers from the Queensland bar train them on the principals and practices behind different areas of commercial law and criminal law.
Deputy Chief Justice, Gibbs Salika, tells EMTV that the workshop is essential in the training of the upcoming lawyers.
He says that since the training began, the upcoming lawyers have been given the opportunity to better sharpen their presenting in court and researching on cases.
Manuel Varitimos has been a part of the workshop since it first started three years ago. He says that the workshop also allows the upcoming lawyers to sharpen how they present their cases in court.
The workshop will finish on Friday afternoon, where students will go through an intensive nine hours of training and participating in moot courts that focus on issues within both commercial law and criminal law.
