Mioks – Lahanis Rematch In Lae Tomorrow

A rematch for the game between Enga Mioks and Bitangor Goroka Lahanis will be played tomorrow afternoon at the Lae Rugby League ground.

The Mioks-Lahanis game was called off after both teams drew 22-all in the preliminary finals last Sunday.

The winning team will travel to Kokopo to meet the Agmark Rabaul Gurias in the semi-finals come this Sunday.

Tomorrow's encounter is crucial for both teams as they vie for a semi-final spot against the Agmark Rabaul Gurias.

The Mioks-Lahanis game last Sunday ended in a draw. Both teams were unable to score the tiebreaker, even during over time.

About five key playmakers from both teams were injured during Sunday’s game.

The Enga Mioks lost halfback Willie Guambo and five-eight Charlie Simon in the second half of the game and couldn’t manage to complete their sets and execute game plans.

For the Lahanis, it was a long way through to the finals after completing the season properly at the 8th spot.

This year was indeed a challenging one for the Goroka franchise with Coach Peter Warlock placed under tremendous pressure every week to prepare the team.

The onus has been on the Tatsim brothers, Bernard and Felix, and centre Kevin Inagafa to lead the Eastern Highlands boys in tomorrow’s encounter against the Mioks.

It is also unconfirmed whether the Mioks will be having their halves ready for tomorrow’s game.

However, they will also be without the services of Coach Timothy Lepa who is out on disciplinary grounds.

Meanwhile, the Lahanis are set to be in Lae tonight in preparation for their game at 3pm tomorrow afternoon.
