Airlines PNG CEO to step down

Airlines PNG Chief Executive Officer, Gary Toomey will step down from his role as CEO on 21 November, 2012.

This was announced today by the Board of Directors of Airlines of Papua New Guinea Limited (POMSOX: CGA) in agreement with the Company’s CEO, Mr Toomey.

Mr Toomey took office as the CEO in August 2009, and with his contract term drawing to a close and the company entering a new development phase, the Board has considered to be an appropriate time for the best interest of the company, its shareholders and employees.

This is so that the new appointee may become immediately involved in the planning and implementation of the next phase.

Airlines PNG new appointed CEO, Mr Muralee Siva, will take office on 21st November.

Chairman of the company’s board, Simon Wild, thanked Mr Toomey on behalf of the Board and company for his dedicated efforts for the company, which has benefited from the considerable skills and experience he has brought to it.
