With the Volleyball National Championship coming up in September, at the Taurama Aquatic Centre, the Lower Sogeri Volleyball Competition has already put a training squad in place since May this year doing training on a weekly basis.
The competition that started in 2002, and has grown in participation.
The LSV has attended every National Championships since 2007 except for 2014 and 2015. However, they are looking forward to selecting a good team out of the training squad and make their comeback in September.
The LSV has a total of 24 teams; 14 competing in the men’s division and 10 teams in the women’s.
The training squad was selected from the 24 teams.
They are now in training; before the final team for the men’s and the women’s teams representing Lower Sogeri will be selected.
EMTV Sports was able to catch a glimpse of their game yesterday as they displayed some of their popular spiking skills on court.
Training Squad Manager, Kila Launch, is confident they will be able to put together a good team from the training squad to take on the championship in September.
Meanwhile, the LSV Competition is expecting its finals in November, after the National Championship.
