Lockyer Presents 10 Rugby Balls To Kerema RLA

Australian resources company, Mayur Resources, presented 10 rugby balls to the Kerema Rugby League Association on Tuesday in Kerema town.

The rugby balls will be used for the Kerema rugby league team members in their training and matches during their home season and other tournaments they are to take part in.

“I know how popular rugby league is. I hope it inspires all the people here to go on and be the best they can be at their chosen sport.

They’re the same footballs we use in Australia, the Steeden [brand] and I’m sure they’ll be put to good use here so good luck with them; it’s the least we can do,” Darren Lockyer, former professional rugby player, said.

Mr Lockyer said he hoped the donation of rugby balls will give a boost to Kerema rugby league team members when they participate in the Southern Region Rugby Tournament this weekend in Koiari District.

Kerema Rugby League President Emmanuel Morihari, while thanking Lockyer, said that 10 rugby balls will put a winning spirit in the team members when they participate in the Southern Region Tournament this weekend.
