Powerlifting elite Linda Pulsan says the sport is all about perfection in technique, and not just about lifting.
In an interview with the Oceania and World record holder 72kg division, Pulsan mentioned that most of the lifters weren’t aware of the importance of getting the techniques right and that competing in a regular competition is important for lifters.
A lack of competition after the Pacific Games is one of the reasons why the Association needs to host competitions for lifters to participate.
Like any other sport, power lifters require competitions that will keep them abreast with their body conditioning and fitness.
Oceania and World Record holder, Linda Pulsan, says powerlifting requires the athlete to perfect lifting techniques and not just picking up the weights with share strength.
Due to the Association’s financial incapability, Pulsan was not able to attend World Championships to defend her titles.
With this competitions becoming a regular contest for lifters, there is a possibility of mini competitions staged in other provinces around the country.
