Land Valuation Act reviewed

The office of the Valuer General has started a consultative process in reviewing the Valuation Act of 1967.

A number of Valuers from throughout the provinces have put their heads together to make necessary changes in Port Moresby on Thursday.

The consultative workshop was attended by various public and private sectors, as well as land administrators.

Land Valuation is necessary to ensure the correct costing’s and title is made for a parcel of land.

Valuer General, Flora Kwapena, describes that a professional valuer interpret the property market and they determine the value of the property, especially in the urban centers.

The last review of the Act was done back in 1978.
