The Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG today thanked the Lamana Group for its support of K15,000.
Former contestant and 1st Runner Up in the 2014 Pageant, Nadia Parascos, thanked Lamana General Manager, Yiannis Nicolaou, for the support.
The pageant is a stage for young Pacific women to be cultural ambassadors for their country.
It also raises funds for a scholarship fund which assists young girls to complete their education in tertiary institutions and colleges around the country.
On a broader scale, the pageant also aims to garner exposure for Pacific nations, and bring publicity to the region and its many tourist attractions.
In the last four years, the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG has raised over K400,000 for its scholarship, assisting 110 girls throughout PNG.
“Sponsors like Lamana have shown a true spirit of collaboration to empower our young women. We believe that education is the key to success and prosperity of this country”, Chairperson Katherine Johnson said.
This year’s Crowning Ball will be on November 14, with the winner to represent PNG in Cook Islands in December this year.
