Lae Secondary Introduces Zero Tolerance Policy

Three weeks into the school year and a secondary school in Lae City, has introduced a zero tolerance approach towards group fights and pornography.

Lae Secondary School has already expelled 13 students last year.  This year, it has introduced a policy to strengthen its approach.

Principal Christopher Raymond says the Zero Tolerance Policy is aimed at maintaining high academic results.

Lae Secondary’s hard stance to combat illicit activities, including pornographic mobile uploads, came after reports of such goings-on reached the teachers, raising concerns about their students' activities within school boundaries and outside.

Principal Raymond knows that in order for the school to continue functioning at the top, hard lined measures have to be taken.

Raymond said more infrastructures should be built. In that way, it would translate into good results.

He also said the school is looking to empower students of all backgrounds to become high achievers.

The school is now forcing students to quit organized group fights, pornographic uploads and drug use.

Meanwhile, the board is improving the schools' infrastructure. The students are now expected to utilize these additions to maintain high standards.
