The family of a 19-year-old boy from Lae’s Boundary Road settlement has made a public call for local authorities to assist in finding there missing relative.
Elton Agebigo went missing after he went on a picnic with friends to Ajara Mountain, on the fringes of Lae’s Boundary Road.
His family said the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are suspicious, however they have no firm proof that he was kidnapped or killed.
The last time anyone saw Elton was on Wednesday of last week.
He and three friends went on a picnic on the mountains deep within boundary roads settlements.
Moments later, the three boys returned saying they ran off in separate directions after gunshots went off.
“I wanted to swallow objects he held around the house before he disappeared,” said Wendy Agebigo the boy’s mother.
When a search team, including Police, went back to the scene later they found a large amount of blood.
But there were still no signs of Elton, and his father fears the worst.
“I’ve talked to the Lae Met. Superintendent he said he will send men to help us look for my son,” said Timothy Agebigo.
Elton’s elder brother has gone searching the mountain five times after the search team.
Belton is now in despair as hopes of finding his baby brother fades.
“I need the Police help to find my brother, if his dead I would like to bring him home and bury him,” said Belton Agebigo.
Elton’s sudden disappearance comes several days after the community ended a week-long clash with another nearing community.
But, there isn’t sufficient evidence to level the blame on anyone. Lae Police still has to investigate.
