Lae Rugby finals on halt pending court outcome

Finals of the Lae Rugby Football League have been halted pending the outcome of a court order preventing any further matches.

This follows an argument between two teams participating in the A grade Semifinals two weeks ago.

Royal’s officials took out the court order in protest over the teams semifinal results.

During the match, the referee and linesman were beaten by Royals supporters with an 18 all score line.

Decisions have already been made by the Lae Rugby League Executives that the win be awarded to the Bulldogs but was not accepted by Royals.

Members of other teams have appealed to the Royals teams to do away with the court order, and let the finals continue.
