By Staycey Yalo, EMTV SPORTS, Port Moresby

About 30 minutes outside the Port Moresby, the Koiari community, from around the city came together to today to celebrate Christmas through the spirit of Sports.

While most families would gather at private locations and churches, this community braved the heat to enjoy a game of volleyball and Tin Game, for the children.

Koiari residents from the suburbs of 5mile, ATS, 9mile, 14mile and 16mile all gathered at the 16mile SDA church ground for a game of volleyball for the adults and tin game for the children.

Ilu explains that the community comes together every year to enjoy Christmas lunch and a few games.

The games played are not for cash or prize but rather for fun.

There are 6 teams altogether for volleyball and the games are expected to end tomorrow afternoon, including the tin games for the kids.
