Initially charged with manslaughter, lawyer Felix Kange today saw his charge amended to that of murder after allegedly shooting his partner, Regina Morove, last month.
Kange appeared for mention at the Waigani Committal Court today before Senior Magistrate Cosmas Bidar. He was first charged with manslaughter.
Kange attended court this morning on the charge of manslaughter, however Magistrate Bidar adjourned the case to next Thursday in order for police to file the new charge and for a re-arrest to be made.
Bidar told Kange and his lawyer, Fredrick Lunge, that the court was not in the position to prosecute today to allow police to change the charge in the right process.
The charge has been amended to murder after police received more information on the alleged shooting.

The alleged shooting took place at their family home on the night of May 14.
On the summary of facts, the firearm accidently went off and killed the late Regina Morove.
