Ipatas Cup Preparations Underway

Preparations for the 15th Coca Cola Ipatas Cup (CCIC) are progressing with many teams fromthe Highlands andthe Nothern zones eager to participate inthe competition.

While 17 teams have already registered to be part ofthe competition, organisers say applications are still open for interested teams to register.

 

Zone challenges will take place inthe Western Highlands, Chimbu, Jiwaka and Lae, Morobe province.

 

Two formePNGInternational Rugby League players have been appointed bythe board of CCIC and were announced during CCIC CEO Timothy Lepa’s visit to Mt Hagen, Jiwaka and Chimbu recently.

 

Ben Ezekiel, a formePNG Kumuls forward has also been appointed chairman ofthe CCIC Jiwaka challenge along with anther former Kumuls Captain, Bel Numapo, who will be retaining his chairmanship for the Chimbu challenge.

 

About 17 teams are expected to take part with some ofthem yet to be registered, but applications are still open for any interested teams who want to take part inthe competition.

 

The officially launching ofthe 2013-2014 CCIC will be held atthe Melanesian Hotel onthe 20th and 21st of December 2013 atthe Lae rugby League ground.
