The immigration task force team is now searching for the agent who assisted in smuggling nine Nepalese men intothe country.
The task force team did not reveal his identity but said he has been identiflied and is currently onthe run.
The Beroko cells were filled to its capacity when EMTV News visitedthe nine Nepalese men atthe Beroko police station yesterday.
They were inthe cell block with ther local inmates.
With tears in his eyes, this man pleaded on behalf ofthe ther eight tothe Nepal embassy in Australia to assistthem return totheir country andtheir families.
He saidthe stress of remaining captive for six days now sincetheir arrest atthe Jackson’s international airport is too much.
The task force team advisedthe Nepalese government thatthese nine are state withnesses to uncoveringthe human smuggling racket in Nepal and Papua New Guinea
The task force team is now searching for the agent involved. They said a man has been identiflied but has now gone into hiding. His full identity has not been revealed.
The task force team saidthey are working closely withthe Nepalese embassy in Australia to deportthese men.
On arrival in Nepal,these men will assistthe authoritiesthere to investigatethe human smuggling agentsthere.
The immigration task force team said this arrest is a signal to foreigners coming intothe country through legal processes.
