IBS Mathematics Competition

The Institute of Business Studies Mathematics Competition aims to boost human resources in the country.

Executive Director, Edward Susantha, said it provides an academic hub for the young generation to prosper in mathematics.

IBS believes that this competition empower students from the schools within nation’s capital to enhance and develop their mathematics skills.

It was established on June 22, this year, which saw 900 participants from 50 schools both lower and upper secondary levels.

After five months of continuous assessment, today was the awards presentation at Saraga campus.

Awards were given to best performing students from both lower and upper secondary levels.

UPPER SECONDARY
Individual Awards
1. Mirriam Gordon – Gordons Secondary School
2. Matthew Heako – St Charles Lwanga Secondary School
3. Eleasha Yalehen – Marianville Secondary School)
Felisha Alex – Marianville Secondary School) Tied for 3rd Place

School Awards

  1. Gordons Secondary School
    2. St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School
    3. Kopkop College

In addition, best performing schools were also being awarded.

Lower Secondary
Individual Awards
1. John Kawagle – St Charles Lwanga Secondary School
2. Tauna Vele – Kopkop College
3. Ewawariella Kora – Png Paradise High School

School Awards

  1. Jubilee Secondary School
    2. Marianville Secondary School
    3. St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School

Meanwhile, IBS management is planning to extend it to rest the rest of the country.

“We are planning to extend it throughout the country and by doing this students will learn mathematics and improve their IQ level,” he said.
