Hunters Remain Hopeful

Speedster Garry Lo’s efforts weren’t in vain when Wynnum Manly Seagulls kept the Hunters at bay with a gallant 28 -10 win.

The Hunters remain a sore side while hoping to make a difference in their last game against the Souths Logan Magpies.

The SP PNG Hunters tooted in with four straight wins from the graveyard.

Hunters were banking on services of blazing Garry Lo and Thompson Teteh, who were in studded form.

Wynnum Manly Seagulls had the early running to open the scoring, 16 minutes into the game.

The Hunters worked their way downfield with Centre Thompson Teteh who busted through three Wynnum Defenders to find the try line.

Wynnum ran rings around the Hunters before the half-time, leaving Ben Cronin to score left of the uprights, extending the lead to 12-4.

Hunter’s attempts to bounce back were restricted by the home team right after the break as the formidable home pack really ground out their sets to make some inroads back behind the ruck.

The floodgates continued to remain open for Wynnum as they went bagging tries right to the full time.

Intrust Super Cup leading try scorer Garry Lo made his 23rd try of the campaign, wrapping up the Hunters just below the par.

Hunters remain hopeful for this weekend’s match before a final top 5s are made known.
