A health facility in the Kutubu Local Level Government area will see the recruitment of health extension officers after two housing projects were completed.
Sister-in-Charge, Betty Alu told EMTV News of how Inu Health Centre has seen health officers leave as housing was a problem.
Sister Alu says, the houses will now help improve the level of health care services in the area.
The L65 building is built by Local Company, Wonderland Construction.
The two staff houses were built under the funding of the Nipa Kutubu District at the cost of K350,000.00 and are the first in the past 20 years.
Inu Health Centre serves nearly 6,000 people and it will take about 3 to 4 hours to reach Nipa Station or Mendi town for a referral hospital.
Recently the status of Inu Health Centre was upgraded.
In his speech, the sitting MP spoke highly of the current policies implemented by the People’s National Congress led Government.
Despite criticisms by many over the free primary health care policy, MP Komal said the staff houses were the outcome of the Government’s commitment in the health sector.
Members of the Nipa Kutubu District Development Authority, Southern Highlands Provincial Health, sitting MP Pesap Jeffrey Komal and local leaders also were present at the opening.
