Government Supports Churches in Moresby South

Several churches in Moresby South will be receiving funds from the Government.

Through Minister for Sports and National Events, Justin Tkatchenko, an agreement between the government and churches to help run the ongoing support towards the running of the churches.

Funds that will be allocated to churches will be used to carry on with church development programs, women’s fellowship, and youth ministries within the churches, as well as developments of infrastructure.

Tkatchenko reassured all community and church members that he will continue to support church activities.

Tkatchenko said helping people not just through infrastructure development but also spiritually and many other ways no matter the denomination, is also a way forward to keep the communities in tune.

He says communities will continue to receive necessary infrastructure development, but encourages that all youths and communities should work with churches to enhance better life and living situations of people.

While Tkatchenko continues his services to help support his electorate of Moresby South, the recent water crises in the area that left communities without any water supply due to faults in the pipes, was descried by Tkatchenko as pipe sabotage.
