The Canarium Indicum —or locally known as the Galip nut is set to become the country’s next big fruit export.

The fruit nut has become popular in a short while in the New Guinea Island region after the leading research organization, NARI declared it as economic viable.

NARI’s Principal scientist in the Galip research, Tio Nevinimo says they are looking towards the private sector to take up their research work and develop it into an industry of its own.
