A group of energetic girls were at Sir John Guise Stadium overthe weekend to showcasetheir soccer talent.
Most ofthese girls are product of ‘Just Play’ concept Spearheaded byInternational Federation of Football Association through Oceania Football Confederation.
Betthere is a still long way to go and plans are already in place to pushthese youngsters to fully realizetheir potential.
Twenty three Schools in NCD were grouped into three to make up a team. Girls in Orange bibs were from St Johns, Tokarara and June Valley Primary Schools calledthemselves Hidden Valley taking on Freeway Girls including Hohola, Eki Vaki and Ted Diro primary Schools.
The U16 girl’s competition is obviously emphasizing on promoting women in football.
PNGFA through this program is embarking to secure a spot for this young talent inthe 2015 Pacific Games.
PNGFA is also looking at training female referees and providing coaching to coaches.
