Expat Arrested For Pornography

by Vanessa Knight – EM TV News, Port Moresby

An expatriate of New Zealand origin was arrested in Lorengau last month for producing and exhibiting pornographic material of a local adult man.

Police reports state that the expatriate, who was employed as the Crushing Manager at the Polongou quarry, was on the Manus Highway when the incident occurred, and was cited under the Summary Offences Act for producing an article of a naked man, which grossly offended against the accepted standards of decency.

The local man, in his early 50s, reported the incident to local authorities the next day, and told police that after consuming liquor with the expatriate, he was coerced into removing his clothing and dancing whilst the expatriate took pictures with a digital camera.

The accused is released on K7000 bail, and is currently awaiting his court appearance.
