The European Union committed almost K38 million towards Human Resource Development (HRD) Program of infrastructure development for 10 TVET Institutions in six provinces in the country.
For Morobe province, Bulolo Technical School and Umi Vocational Training Center were selected and will benefit from K7 million project under the partnership between the European Union and the PNG Government.
Bulolo Technical School in Bulolo-Wau District which is one of the recipients of EU’s HRD Phase 2 Program received a funding of K3.5 million for infrastructure development.
The officers from the European Union, the National Planning Department, Education Department and Morobe Education Division arrived in Bulolo on Wednesday (July 25), to officiate the groundbreaking ceremony of the new infrastructure development for Bulolo Technical School.
The technical expert heading the EU funded project, Dr Ben Imbun, said the funding process took almost three years.
This was done through the guidance of the National Planning Department, the Education Department and Morobe’s Education Division.
Bulolo Technical School currently offers 8 courses and has 250 students and 20 teachers.
With the infrastructure development by EU, the new buildings will also be equipped with new training tools which will advance the skills training for the engineering students.
