The Eastern Highlands community living in the Moresby North West area gathered at the Constitutional Park in Port Moresby to support their candidate for the Moresby North West Seat.
While there were performances by cultural groups from all eight districts, the people also took the opportunity and called on their candidate to hear their grievances.
Their candidate is Joseph Tonde, who is up against sitting MP and PNC candidate, Michael Malabag.
They say that evictions, water supply and the struggle of living in settlements were high on their agenda. They added that they want a leader who has the cry the people of Eastern Highlands at heart.
Tonde who is also the party leader of One Nation, assured the community that bringing land titles to them will be high on his list of priorities, if elected.
He says as a missionary he understands what the people are facing.
