A report by World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank Group reveals that there are now over one billion people with disabilities globally corresponding to about 15% of the world's population.
The Report also finds that the numbers of people living with disability are increasing due to aging populations and chronic health conditions.
Pacific island countries have some of the world's highest rates of non-communicable disease and the growing number of people with disabilities.
The report recommends governments and their development partners to do more to improve the rights and participation of people with disabilities.
