The cancer foundation PNG will host its prestigious Daffodil Cup Day challenge on Friday, 28 August, at the Royal Port Moresby Golf Glub.
The annual charity golf event was launched in Port Moresby today by Oil Search Corporate Affairs Coordinator, Ruth Waram, in the presence of PNG Cancer Foundation CEO Dadi Toka Jr.
Oil Search has been sponsoring the competition every year to raise funds for cancer control in PNG.
Oil Search has been the major sponsor of the Port Moresby Daffodil Cup Golf Day since its inception in 2003, and the Lae Daffodil Cup in 2011.
So far, overwhelming support from business communities has assisted Cancer Foundation PNG and the PNG Cancer Relief Society Inc.
A check presentation of K25,000 was presented to CFPNG. Mr.Toka upon receiving the cheque thanked Ms Waram and Oil Search for their active involvement with the work of Cancer Foundation PNG.
Ms Waram encourages all the valuable supporters to take part in the competition and raise as much money as possible for awareness. There is also similar fundraising event in Lae.
All funds raised from the Lae Daffodil Cup will enable the PNG Cancer Relief Society Inc. to help treat cancer patients at the National Cancer treatment Centre at Angau Memorial Hospital Lae.
Cancer Foundation PNG will use all funds from this event to carry out its awareness around the country and work with partner organisations to improve cancer control across the country.
