Crazy Ex-Girlfriend fans should be going crazy, after their favourite girl, Rachel Bloom, won at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards in California last night.
The 28-year old took Best Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical; this was her first win and first nomination at the Globes.
Accepting the award for her role in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Bloom was so ecstatic, tearing up saying the show almost didn’t make it on television.
“We almost didn’t have a show. We made a pilot for another network and they rejected it. And we sent the pilot to every other network in Hollywood and we got six rejections in one day, and we felt like crap.
“But we knew it was good.”
If it weren’t for CW Network President, Mark Pedowitz, it wouldn’t show at all.
Referring to Pedowitz, she announces, “He’s the one who saved us! And he’s the reason there is a musical comedy on network television right now.”
She went on to thank the people who she worked with and her husband, among others.
Bloom beat other great actresses in her category to getting the ‘Golden Globe’; Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Jamie Lee Curtis (Scream Queens) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep).
