CPL group of companies came on board on Wednesday with a sponsorship package of two hundred thousand kina towards Basketball Federation oPNG.
This will greatly assistthe Federation to go futher with consistency and improvingthe code of basketball in all levels.
CPL wasthe major sponsor ofthe Lae Championships and is committed to pushthe code forward.
PNG Basketball Federation has a mammoth task ahead to set its house in order beforethe 2015 Pacific Games.
This includes hostingthe Junior Championships and finalizing a team for the Oceania and Pacific meet in Novermber at New Zealand.
The All Stars Championships held recently in Lae saw 6 centres participate. The Basketball Federation oPNG was onthe ground to finalise a team for Oceania and Pacific meet in Novermber in New Zealand.
The Championships also pavedthe way to select a train on squad for the 2015 Pacific Games. The Federation has planned for international tournaments to gain exposure before battling it out on home soil.
Basketball won’t be played atthe Mini Pacific Games at Wallis and Futunathereforethe Federation is eyeingthe U20 Championships to be held in September fromthe 20th tothe 24th in Kavieng.
