Jiwaka’s tourism sector stakeholders say the industry is set to expand in the next two years with improved road infrastructure and stability around law and order issues.

His commen’s come as the local economy sets to grow from Government improved infrastructures like roads, law and order including rural electrification.

Andrew Tants partnered with the Evangelical Lutheran church and started the Jiwaka Mission Resort.

His decision to do so, opens a window of opportunity for a new province that is still growing an economy that is in its infancy.

“We asked to go into partnerships with the church and they agreed, they are happy, we are happy and it provides some ways of income for the local economy.”

The Jiwaka Mission Resort is new and is still a work in progress, but the resorts existence gives light to possibilities in the Jiwaka tourism sector.

The province doesn’t have the mineral mines, but it has land fertility to supply fresh livestock and garden produce to any tourist filled restaurant.

The culture is also colourful, sharing a border with the Chimbu Province and Western Highlands, providing a unique blend of tradition.
