Lives are about to change in the Central Province with work on the brand new Central Province Hospital expected to begin soon.

Governor Kila Haoda said the conceptual master plan has already been completed and endorsed by the Central Provincial Government.

Mr Haoda said ground works are expected to start within the next 12 months.

The conceptual plan for the 500 bed Central Hospital was presented to the Prime Minister and has been endorsed by the Provincial Government.

The next phase of this National Government project is the detail design and confirmation of the land for the development.

According to Governor Kila Haoda, the state of the art Hospital is proposed to be built at Bautama along the corridors of the Magi Highway.

Negotiations for financial assistance are on-going and once all arrangements are in place, the project will get off the ground.

Once the hospital is complete, it will serve as the biggest referral hospital for all Southern Region Provinces.

It will also provide an opportunity for medical training for the people of the Central Province.
